Women’s volleyball team wins two on the road, moves into second place
In Sports, Volume 12 Issue 6 @ 9:22 AM

By Evan Menzies

The Spartans were in Manitoba’s capital this past weekend as they challenged the University of Winnipeg Wesmen twice. Friday night’s match saw Trinity Western University quickly pounce on the Wesmen, winning their first two sets 25-18 and 25-15. But the Wesmen would not be swept at home in such a manner. In the third set Winnipeg went up 8-6 at the first timeout. The Spartans rebounded after to take a 16-15 lead at the second technical. The Wesmen battled back and went on to win the third set 27-25. That would be all that the Wesmen could muster however. The fourth set saw the Spartans hold leads of 8-4 and 16-14 at both timeouts and held on to their lead down the stretch, closing out the final set by a score of 25-23.

Dance party study playlist: Why study when you could be dancing?
In Frames, Volume 12 Issue 6 @ 7:34 AM

You’ve been studying for the past five hours. By studying, I mean you’ve stared at a blank word document for twenty minutes, clicked on Facebook, looked up the random guy/gal you met in the caf, clicked off Facebook, made yourself a “study snack,” sat back down at the blank word document and end in a panic attack because nothing is done. For those of you who are wondering my word count is currently 82. Writing papers will do that to you – make you freakishly aware of your word count at all times.

A small group of Trinity Western University Choir students and alumni will visit Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine, this Christmas break.

Wes Janzen, director of choral activities at TWU and recently titled Principal Guest Conductor of the Kiev Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, is directly linked with Kiev through his family and historical events during the reign of communist republics in the early 1900s. He will be leading the group of 15 students and 15 alumni from Dec. 26 to Jan. 7, to the historic country in order to work in conjunction with the Music Mission Kiev.

What do the University of Oxford and Trinity Western University have in common? On Wednesday, November 21, a theologian from the former presented his current work to a small group of students and faculty.

Rev. Brian Brown, a Methodist minister and theologian at Oxford, spoke on behalf of Storykeepers, an ecumenical group of investors created by Brown and Dr. Andrew Melrose. The organization produces a Biblical-themed children program called “Storykeepers” on ITV, a British television network. The show reaches approximately 1.4 million viewers. According to survey results, 85 per cent of the audience has no connection to the church or Christianity.
