Shout Out Louds – Work
(2010, Merge Records)q
Grade: B+
Work, the new album from Swedish indie pop sensation, Shout Out Louds, is a catchy pop spectacular. The band’s first album since 2007’s highly touted Our Ill Wills, seems to be just a part two to their previous showing.
There is very little progression shown for the three-year gap, though Our Ill Wills is not a bad album to repeat. Work has several good tracks, like “Walls” and “Play the Game,” both of which will remain with you long after you have finished listening the album.
If this album is your first exposure to the Shout Out Louds, then you will likely enjoy it very much, but if you are an avid listener, you may be slightly disappointed.
