Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova: The entire Once soundtrack
Could you really pick one song for the achin’ off this beauty? The whole album is steeped.

Jeff Buckley: “Last Goodbye”
(Mystery White Boy) Oh boy. Heartache never sounded so joyous in falsetto. Make sure to take the live version off this album; it’s Buckley’s best rendition.

Kelly Clarkson: “Since U Been Gone”
(Breakaway) The upside of a downturn. Clarkson is the only Idol to actually kick ass.

mewithoutYou: “Bullet To Binary”
(A To B: Life) Divine justice. If your heart is broken, this song probably explains how you’re feeling.

No Doubt:“Don’t Speak”
(Tragic Kingdom) Since I’m male, I’m trying to include female options. This is the only other female-led act I could think of that most readers would know.

Pearl Jam:“Black”
(Ten) “I know you’ll be the sun in somebody else’s sky/ but why, why, why can’t it be mine?” You might think it emo if it weren’t for Eddie Vedder’s growl.
