The Bargainhunterz vs: hygiene

This article is dedicated to the memory of experienced Bargainhunter, Andy “Lighting” Hatz; he lived and died by the discount deal. Hatz scoured over his expenses and come to the decision that if you are looking for an inexpensive education, Trinity Western University is not your best bet. Hatz now attends a publicly funded school. However, we must soldier on as bargainhunterz, and taking his place will be none other than TWU’s finest bargain hunter: Jason “Rip-Tide” Vander-Hoek.

Sometimes you have to be mean, but nearly every other time you are required to be clean. As TWU students, we know cleanliness is next to Godliness, and therefore, cleanliness has a special place at the right hand of Jesus. However, even good hygiene has its price. A trip to your local Shoppers Drug Mart will quickly reveal that this price is excessive. However, thou shall fear not for the Bargainhunterz have paved the way to a cleaner and cheaper tomorrow. Here is a list of suggested practices:

1. Shampoo, believe it or not, is unnecessary. Take for example TWU’s own Nathan Rubuliak who has gone 273 days without washing his hair, and remains as rugged and handsome as ever.
2. In dorms, things are communal. Right?
3. Those little bottles of shampoo are gifts from your hotel. All of them. It doesn’t matter how many; they are all complimentary.
4. Instead of laundry detergent, just toss your clothes in the dryer along with a sheet of fabric softener. The mustard stain makes it look distressed, and that’s still fashionable, right?
5. Loonies are hard to come by, so if the sock can still bend, it’s still good.
6. If you are not going out, pyjamas are more than suitable attire.
7. Soap has many functions (also flavours) and can be used for a variety of things including but not limited to: shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, body wash, and deodorant.
These tips are merely suggestions, and the Bargainhunterz are not responsible for any of the resulting situations, unless they’re awesome. If the latter is the case, then we totally did it. All of it.
