Yeasayer Odd Blood
When a band openly admits that their album is the direct result of a “massive acid trip in New Zealand,” does that make for a great record? Odd Blood, the latest from Brooklyn based band, Yeasayer (pronounced yay-sayer) somehow manages to pull this off.
As much as I believe that drugs are awful and a menace in our society, this album is spectacular. With synths and melodies that are a strange, yet fitting combination of Friendly Fires, Animal Collective and Passion Pit Odd Blood cannot go wrong (if you do not know these bands you should investigate them as well).
Tracks like Ambling Alp, Madder Red and O.N.E. being extremely catchy and fun Odd Blood will become a great soundtrack to spring. Yeasayer are set to play at the Biltmore Cabaret on 21 April.
