You may have noticed some peculiar events during the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 7. Maybe the large, scattered chunks of tree trunk raised some questions in your mind. Perhaps wild theories danced through your head as to how those chunks ended up littering our fine campus. Could it be that renegade woodsmen are running freely through the back 40? Is TWU stocking up on firewood in case of an extended power outage (as if that will ever happen)?
Well Uncle Will is here to put all those silly theories to rest. After all, I wouldn’t want your imaginations running away with you. There’s a very simple explanation as to how it all went down.

In the early afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 15, Trinity Western University lost one of its oldest and most revered icons. Actually, it lost half of one of its oldest and most revered icons.
This icon has gone by many names throughout its long tenure here. To student Iain Cook, it was known as Nemesis. You may know it as “that tree with the flag on it.” But personally, I have always known it by one name: the Tallest Tree.
Yes, the winds of change were blowing, and they sent at least a third of the Tallest Tree’s mighty body crashing to the earth below. Luckily, no students or faculty were smooshed by the falling debris.

Once upon a time, I was in Toronto.
I was visiting the mall with a good chum, and we had just finished picking up our weekly supply of comic books. Life was good.
“Hey, would you like to enjoy a slice of fresh pizza with me?” my Good Chum asked. Never one to turn down fresh pizza, I accepted his offer and we veered off to the left in search of a triangle of meaty-cheese-bread.
Mmm-mmm.
Good Chum and I entered the delicious pizza establishment and ambled towards the counter.

What ever happened to Limp Bizkit? I asked myself this question while sitting on the toilet last week. When I was in jr. high, I was fanatic about Fred Durst, lead singer of Limp Bizkit. I knew all the words to his entire first album, I had four or five Limp Bizkit t-shirts, about a hundred stickers, and even a patch for my backpack. I was a true fan.
