Trinity Western University’s Laurentian Leadership Centre has been taking students deep into the core of Canada’s politics for five years. Now, the LLC will be receiving national attention of its own. After over a month of legal disputes, Stan Peters, former Spartans men’s basketball head coach, and Trinity Western University “have reached a mutually agreeable settlement” of their lawsuit, said a press release issued by the university on Friday.
Peters filed a wrongful-dismissal lawsuit in early February. According to The Province, the 47-year-old coach “claims that the manner of the termination was ‘callous and insensitive’ and without cause and reasonable notice” in legal documents.
Mid-season terminations are “highly unusual,” said a statement of claim filed in B.C. Supreme Court.

On the trip, the Titans played five games against different Slovak Division II teams, most of which were stocked with junior and semi-professional players. These teams were highly skilled and boasted impressive skating and puck handling abilities. After each of their games, the Titans hosted the opposing team at a local restaurant and the Titan players shared their faith and spirituality and how God has worked within their lives.

Why not?” But now that the article is three days late, and it’s time to actually write the thing, I remember exactly “why not”: I don’t wanna. But now it’s crunch time and I have to race to write an article on apathy that I don’t want to write. Talk about irony.
So, what do you guys wanna talk about? How are classes going? Are you seeing anyone?

The concept of worldview is commonly used by many evangelicals to signify a set of beliefs and convictions that are personally chosen and acted out. Worldview thinking runs on the unspoken premise that things like religion, morality, and sexuality are personal choices. This type of thinking needs to be assessed and smoked out for what it really is: the reduction of religion to a trifling personal choice that causes disunity and individualism.
The popular internet blog “Stuff White People Like” takes up the task of documenting and commenting on all the inane things that the stereotypical white person in America enjoys. The list is currently at 87 entries but the one entry that caught my eye was entry #2: “religions their parents don’t belong to.”
