Trinity Western University continued its administrative shuffle this January, with an abundance of promotions and reconfigurations taking place in the university’s highest office. After a major restructuring last fall under the guidance of then-new president Jonathan Raymond, more minor tweaking has continued into his second year.
“The university will always be adjusting,” said Raymond, commenting on the changes.
Glenn Forrester, former executive assistant to the president, will move up to vice president of administration. In this role, he will continue his work with campus infrastructure, but also oversee what Raymond calls “auxiliary enterprises,” such as the bookstore and campus services.

Just over one week ago, the National Hockey League experienced something that has only ever happened once before, but now makes everyone wonder how it doesn’t happen more often. Midway through the third period of a Sunday evening game, with the Buffalo Sabres leading the Florida Panthers 4-3, Panther’s forward Richard Zednik took a flying skate to his neck at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York.

North Koreans back for second year
After last year’s successful firsttime visit, Trinity Western Univeristy will once again host a small group of North Koreans on its campus.
Seven representatives from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) will tentatively arrive mid-February for approximately one month, according to Phil Goertzen of the Linguistics department. This group will be comprised of five English teachers, one representative from the Ministry of Education and one representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Montreal filmmaker creates online home for homeless
MONTREAL (CUP) - Homelessnation.org originated in Montreal but has since become a national forum for Canada’s street people, providing them not only with a voice, but an opportunity to connect with each other and with homeless advocacy groups.
Montreal filmmaker Daniel Cross’s 1997 release, The Street, aimed to relay the stories of Canada’s itinerant urban population. But five years ago, he realized that film is an inadequate medium to convey his extensive research.
Cross was forced to exclude the stories of hundreds of men, women and children, but he found an alternative in the Internet’s emerging social networking and media technologies.
