Get your game face on!
Whether you prefer the thimble or the top hat, you were guaranteed to have a grand ole’ time at the School of Business second annual Monopoly Night! The pretzels and soda were flowing, adrenaline was pumping, and $5,200 dollars in tuition vouchers were up for grabs.
Professors from the business department provided snacks to fuel the participants, and Dean Kevin Sawatsky also dropped by for moral support. It was going to be a long night and only the tough would survive.
After two riveting rounds of battling for Park Place and watching classmates suffer bankruptcy, 28 business students claimed prizes ranging from $50-$200.
However, the real test was the final “Mr. Monopoly” round. This year, Emily Liu proved her business savvy and took home first place with a solid $1,200 in tuition money. I suppose the title should be changed to “Ms. Monopoly” for now. In respectable second place, Sandi Dykxhoorn won a total of $700.
The participants are thankful to Rod Ross, Corporate Programs Manager at the School of Business, for organizing the event—with a smile as always. In addition, the School of Business would also like to thank the generous sponsors for making the night possible. They are, in no particular order, Wiffen Financial, RNJ Ventures, KNV Accountants, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Waldun Group, and Van Noort Bulb Company, and Peterbilt Trucks.
Till next year . . . do not pass Go
. . . do not collect $200.
