B. Informed: Issue 4

Ok. So, you are back and wanting to know what the Trinity Western Student Association has been doing the last few weeks.

Well, TWUSA has hosted a number of events recently such as the Party in the Penthouse, Mike Edel, and Open Mic Night featuring [spaces]. Now TWUSA is currently heading up Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritan’s Purse. The goal is to pack 150 shoeboxes with gifts for children in need, so pick up yours in the TWUSA office or the Student Life Office. Follow the instructions and return the packed shoebox to TWUSA or Student Life no later than 5:00 p.m. on November 25th.

Back in the office, the in-house TWUSA committees have been working on the bylaws to initiate the structural changes that council needs to work more effectively in the future. In response to concerns raised at the Annual General Meeting, TWUSA has made in-house committees open-hearing committees for the month of November. Check out www.TWUSA.ca for dates and times.

In the Board of Governor’s Room, the Student Business Association and A7E were re-ratified as active clubs on the TWU campus. Also, the Math and Science Club was allocated funds to hold an event, which hosted a speaker and welcomed a new faculty member. In addition, TWUSA voted in a new club, the Media and Communication Students Club (MCSC). The MCSC is an exciting addition to the School of Arts, Media, and Culture and promises to be valuable for communication students at TWU.

The intention of all this mumbo jumbo is so that you can B informed. We encourage you to stop by the office and chat with the council member manning the desk. In the office you can watch some TV (we’ve got cable, yeah boi!), pick up a newspaper or grab a drink. Even though McDonalds is giving away coffee by the cup, Tim Horton’s has $1 French Vanillas, and Starbucks’ holiday drinks have made a glorious return, TWUSA is ahead of the game. We’ve got free coffee and tea all day, every day during business hours. So for the absolute best deal on campus, join us in TWUSA’s very own office.
