LLC mansion potentially up for sale, but program remains
It is true that the Laurentian Leadership Centre building might be sold in a “friendly sale.”
“A friendly sale is one in which the university always maintains control and use of the property and it comes back into the university’s possession in the future as a gift,” said Trinity Western University President Jonathan Raymond.
As the year at the LLC soon wraps up, and students have already received their acceptance letters for the fall semester, they have no need to fear because the program will continue as planned. TWU has no plans of giving up the LLC as a program, and instead a friendly buyer will be in charge of the funds that apply to the university to reduce or eliminate debt.
“This opens up doors with some donors who will give to the university when it has no debt,” said Raymond.
Although there have been discussions about the LLC being sold, it may or may not take place. “It will only happen if it is a friendly sale and if it helps the university continue to be well managed in its finances and business plan,” said Raymond.
