Titans Weekend

Titans Hockey
On Friday night, Titans hockey played host to Castlegar’s Selkirk College in their home opener at the LEC.
Selkirk managed to get the first goal, but by the end of the period the Titans’ had come back with three goals of their own, as Josh Stephenson, Tyler Pace, and Andrew Hurns all found the net.

From there the boys cruised to 7-1 victory, improving their record to 3-0-0 on the young season.

“Everyone played their role and we were able to execute the game plan laid out by Coach Lowdermilk,” said team captain Peter Masterton.
“The boys were proud to represent the school in front of our fans, and send Selkirk home with a big loss,” added Masterton.

The Titans will look to stay on top of the BC Intercollegiate Hockey League standings this weekend when they welcome Thompson Rivers and Okanagan College to the LEC on Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 PM.

Titans Soccer
Titans men’s soccer won their third game in a row, defeating Stolo United 6-1 on the weekend. After heading into halftime tied thanks to an early goal by Simon Steunenberg, the game quickly changed in the second half as the Titans scored five times. Dan Fulkman bagged two of the goals, while Steubenberg, Steve Giudici, and Brayden Humphrey each netted one. Nicolas Foutz, filled in admirably at goalkeeper for the injured Tyler Rienas. Playing in his first game in goal for the Titans, Nicolas had a solid game, proving his worth as the back-up keeper. The Titans will look to continue their winning streak against the SFC Rangers on Thanksgiving weekend.

On the women’s side, scores were not available, due to their Sunday night game against NCUSC Elite. The Titans have started off the year slowly at 0-2-1, but are showing promise with a hard fought tie in the previous weeks, compromising with a 2-2 tie and their first point of their season.
