Weekend Round Up
The Titans were looking for a surge in the standings, as they took on Okanagon College for the second time in the BCIHL season. There was a special sense of urgency, as it was the last game for the Titans going into the Christmas break and a win was just the Christmas present they were looking for, not only for themselves, but also their fans. Unfortunately, after climbing back from a 3-1 deficit to tie it up 3-3, the Titans lacked the killer instinct to take the victory. Okanagan managed to pot three goals in the final stanza, making the final 6-3 for Okanagan College.
The Titans men’s soccer team won a highly offensive battle against Aldergrove Utd 4-3 on Sunday afternoon. Simon Steunenberg scored two goals, while Justin Rivard and Braden Humphrey also scored for the Titans. Down 2-1 at half time, the Titans scored early in the second half tying the game 2-2. After an own goal by the Titans, the squad controlled the rest of the game, scoring two more times and clinching the game.
In other hockey news, the Bombers won this past weekend by a score of 3-1. Matt Hayes, Rick Fairley and David Giesbrecht all scored for the Bombers, who now face the TWU Renegades next weekend, looking to go above .500 against their archrival.
