“It Ends Tonight” - The All-American Rejects
A driving beat and an emo-esque feel to it. Does it get any better than this? Great use of strings, too.
“Citadel” - Anna Nalick
Besides being on the best CD on the planet (okay, so that’s an exaggeration), this song reminds me of the last weeks of summer, when I realized I had no idea what I was getting myself into becoming an RA.
“So Afraid” - Bebo Norman
Besides having an awesome name, Bebo puts into words some of our deepest fears. It takes me back a few years ago to high school.
“The Blower’s Daughter” - Damien Rice
I fell in love with this song after absolutely hating Closer, the movie it was featured in.
“So Impossible” - Dashboard Confessional
This is one of the first songs I played on repeat for hours. It puts the high school feelings back into university life every time I hear it.
“Dark Blue” - Jack’s Mannequin
It was really hard to choose which JM song to put here because I love all but one track from his album, Everything in Transit. This is just one of my favorites but I’m not sure why.
“Tears and Rain” - James Blunt
Another hard one to pick. Maybe it’s just because he mentions The Picture of Dorian Gray, and I love that book; or maybe it’s because this song captures the human condition so well. Whatever the reason, it’s good.
“Worlds Apart” - Jars of Clay
This is by far my favorite song of all time. No contest. It reminds me of how much I need Jesus.
“Addicted” - Kelly Clarkson
This song still holds the No.1 slot on my “most played” list with a play count of 87. Make that 88.
“Soundtrack for Our Movie” - Mae
It reminds me of summer movie excursions with my best friend back home. Mae is awesome, and so is this song.
“On Fire” - Switchfoot
Reminds me of summer camp years ago. How time flies…
