To snip or not to snip
Peter and Paul get under each other’s skin

First of all, circumcision downright looks better. It’s trim; it’s clean cut. We males get our hair cut and faces shaved for the same reason that we get circumcised. We, the circumcised, look good not only for ourselves, but for the opposite gender. I ask all of you males: do you want your wife traumatized on your wedding night at sight of that hideous serpent-style look you’ve got happening down there? Don’t be a shmut! Get it cut!
Who wants to have a slimy, bacteria-festering environment on the tip of their penis? It’s a haven for body sweat. And fungus. And STDs. AIDS would be severely reduced in Africa if circumcision was administered.
Some complain that nerve endings are lost in the process of circumcision. However, the foreskin is removed from an area so rich and abundant in nerve endings that the skin lost is completely insignificant. In recent years, there have been concerns about the pain infants go through in the procedure. But this world is tough; guys need to learn to ‘man it out’ from the beginning. Circumcision may be a little painful, but it teaches males to live fearless of pain.
Globally, circumcision is a movement that includes the Aztecs, the Australian aboriginals, and most of Western society. One hundred thousand Jews are circumcised each year, along with millions of Muslims. Perhaps one way to prevent war and foster brotherly unity across the earth could be the initiation of males into our global community through circumcision. Imagine governments, nations, and religious leaders all coming together and snipping their infants! What a bonding experience!
Being circumcised looks great, feels great, is healthy, and develops character. What more proof is needed to convince us of the inherent superiority of the snip? Jesus did not have a foreskin; neither should we.
Paul Foth
Great music comes from men with foreskins. Johnny Cash, David Bowie, and Iggy Pop were not snipped. Pat Boone, on the other hand, was a victim of this ritualistic practice.
Let me cut to the heart of the matter. The foreskin is an often-misunderstood little piece of flesh, and is mistakenly considered a useless flap of skin. This could not be further from the truth. The foreskin is an organ rich with sensation because of the high concentration of nerve endings. And it serves to protect the mucous-membrane glands (the penis head), keeping it clean, soft, and sensitive. Without it, the glands can become dry and callous.
Circumcision hinders blood circulation, leading to an unsatisfying sexual experience. The foreskin, on the other hand, increases stimulation for both partners.
Proponents of circumcision claim that uncircumcised penises are more prone to disease and infection. This is, frankly, not true. There are no clear medical benefits for circumcision and some researchers even contend that circumcision is actually hazardous to health, as it increases the risk of developing penile cancer and may have adverse physical, sexual and even psychological affects later in life.
Circumcision procedures themselves are a tragedy. They are usually performed without any anesthetic for the baby. One common method employs the use of a board placed over the infant’s body to limit his movement during the procedure, when the foreskin is pinched or cut and forever removed. The newborn is subject to tremendous pain and usually goes into a coma-like state after the circumcision is performed.
Finally, circumcision eliminates the opportunity for a child to choose for himself whether or not to keep his foreskin. The increasing opposition to circumcision from circumcised men is highlighted by the growing popularity of foreskin restoration procedures. More and more people are opening their eyes to the downside of this degrading practice, and more and more men desire to be whole again.
For the sake of pleasure, health and ethics, I have no choice but to reject this grave injustice. I am against circumcision; I am for skin.
Now you go...

Got something to say?

I was circumcised at the age of 13; so whenever I see a circumcission scene such as in ” The Nativity Story” I would close my eyes because of the trauma.I still remember the scissors, knives that were used to cut my foreskin off and it was a bit painful. As an Asian student, I have to obey my parents so I could not say no when both of my parents told me that I must go through that process. What do I have to say about circumcission? Do I agree or disagree with circumcission?
I think it is up to each individuals , they may choose to cut off their foreskin or to keep it. I think that I will let my future sons to make decision for themselves. This article gives me a nightmare but I think this topic is quite interesting, good job Peter and Paul.
I was circumcised at the age of 18, i went through puberty in pure pain, i suffered a condition called phimosis, the pain was eye watering pain burning, it made me bend over when it hurt, i would be picked on at school because when i urinated, i cried, erections through puberty were hell …but i never had the courage to tell my parents and when asked if everything was alright, yes it was…but no it wasnt, i am now approaching 40, i have 4 kids 3boys and 1 girl, my 3 are circumcised paid for privately, i remember the pain and i dont want my 3 going through hell because all parents think that their kids would tell them of problems, no they dont…i didnt…
